It has been reported for a long time that the Accounts Module was the most confusing part of Bowlr.
We have made steady improvements for years but have finally decided it needs a bigger change and one off the key things to change is the naming of the module and some of the features.
Quick Summary:
- Accounts renamed to Fees
- Transactions to Club Fees across the system
- We have simplified the Fees Module menu to fewer primary pages, and moved some of the lesser-used options and pages into buttons on the primary pages.

More information
- Accounts Module has always been a misleading name, as this module specifically handles Fees related to members, not general accounting. So we have renamed it to Fees Module.
- We have renamed Transactions to Club Fees. This is much more accurate to the purpose of this feature. Transactions was a term chosen early on which in hindsight does not properly describe these features.
- Club Fees are different to Rink Fees - You may be interested in the Rink Fees Module
- This change impacts lots of different pages around Bowlr and we realise that will be temporarily disruptive - Which is why we've timed it at the end of the season
- It will take some time to catch every mention of "Transactions" in help guides etc.
- We have simplified the Fees Module menu to fewer primary pages, and moved some of the lesser-used options and pages into buttons on the primary pages. For example
- To Generate Invoices, you now have to visit the main Invoices page.
- To manage the different fees your club charges members, go to Club Fees then Club Fee Types.
We are confident these changes are logical and will help new users of Bowlr more easily understand these parts of the system. And we understand it will be temporarily confusing to current users but will soon feel more familiar.
