The Letters feature in Bowlr can be used to send information to members by email or can help you print the information to PDFs to send by post.
This is similar to a mail-merge on other applications.
This feature is dependent on the club creating groups of members, see Creating groups of members, to set up a group.
Then in the Members menu, you'll see the option for Letters.
This takes you to a page with 10 letter templates.
On this page, on the relevant row, click Edit to create or update content, see Editing Letters.
When you have finished editing and return to the main Letters page.
If this is your first time using the feature, we highly recommend creating a small test group of members (including yourself) to see what it is like to receive an email.
When ready, select a group and simply click Send emails. Behind the scenes, Bowlr will batch-send emails to all members in the selected group who have an email address. This can take as long as 1-2 hours if you have many members.
It is normal from time to time to experience problems with email delivery. This is almost always related to the member's email provider and either their main global junk mail filter. You must make sure members thoroughly check the junk/spam folders before contacting Bowlr for support.
For the printing option, click Generate PDF instead to preview the content:
Depending on your browser settings, the PDF will open in a new tab or download automatically.
The letters are made up of 3 areas:
- Blank header space for letter-headed paper
- Member name, address, number
- Content you can edit
Remember this works well together with the Mailing Labels feature.
